Selected representatives from the coordinators’ office of Tabernacle of Faith Christian Academy participated in the Division Stakeholders’ Training-Seminar on Child Protection Policy/Anti-Bullying Policy last September 4-6, 2018. It was held at the SDO Conference Hall of Department of Education San Juan.

The program aims to equip a wide range of professionals—from school administrators and coordinators to barangay-level officials and volunteers in acquiring sufficient knowledge in the concept of child protection and how to contextualize it in their own organizations. The Department of Education aims to localize the child protection policy and hopes that through this endeavor it can become comprehensive for everyone.

At the start of the program, the participants were welcomed with a doxology and welcoming remarks by Mrs. Flordelisa D. Pereyra. The presentation of participants was led by Dr. Nonita Y. Sayo followed by an inspirational message by Dr. Joel T. Torrecampo. Then, a statement of purpose was shared by Dr. Emma A. Sendiong.

The seminar proper was spearheaded by Mrs. Irene V. Fonacier-Fellizar, a social worker and a professional who has sufficient training and background in the child protection policy. She has covered a wide range of topics, from important aspects such as standards on child protection, duties and responsibilities of the Child Protection Committee, localization of child protection, and she has also required the participants to take part in a writeshop that she has prepared for them.

After the three-day program, the Department of Education commended all of the individuals who took part in the training-seminar and awarded them with certificates of participation. The three representatives from Tabernacle of Faith Christian Academy were given individual certificates. These representatives are: Mr. Marvin Enriquez (Learner’s Coordinator), Ms. Sarah Danielle G. Caaway (Guidance Officer), and Ptr. Jonathan Malangis (School Chaplain). These representatives are members of TFCA’s Child Protection Committee.
