Grade 5 Students Visit the National Museum

To further boost our students’ learning capabilities, TFCA recently introduced a new teaching methodology called “Project-based Learning” (PBL). Projects provide students the chance to acquire more knowledge. It gives students the chance to apply the skills and information they learned in school to relevant, real-world situations. The students learn how to do critical thinking, solve problems, work with a group, and make presentations.

Last July 5, 2016, our Grade-5 students, together with their Araling Panlipunan teacher Mr. Marvin Enriquez, paid a visit to the National Museum in Taft Avenue, Ermita, Manila. It was part of their activity called “Lakbay Aral sa Nakaraan” where they learned about the history of the early Filipinos. They also got to see the various permanent national collections featuring the ethnographic, anthropological, archaeological and visual artistry of the Philippines.

The project’s Driving Question is “Anu-ano ang mga kontribusyon ng mga sinaunang Pilipino sa pagbuo ng sinaunang kabihasnan?” At the end of the activity, these Grade-5 students will have to make presentations to the lower level (grades 1-4). These presentations will take place in the Grade-5 classroom and is scheduled on August 1, 2016.
