As a Christian school, Tabernacle of Faith Christian Academy has in its core the instilling of Christian values not only to its Faculty and Staff but most importantly to its students regardless of their age. Its battlecry says it all “We value Christianity”. Part of achieving this aim is to establish activities that will engage students to deepen their faith and relationship with God and their eagerness to study His Word.
The National Bible Month paved the way for the students to gain interest in reading the Bible and know its importance in a fun and creative way. This year’s theme, “The Bible: Hope for Community’s Progress”, was given by the Philippine Bible Society taken from Romans 12:4-5 and Psalm 133:1. Aligned to that theme, the school launched different activities for the whole month.
The series of activities was kicked off with a motorcade parade in partnership with the Association fo Pastors for Outreach and Intercession (APOI). The group circled throughout the whole municipality of San Juan.
In the Values classes, the high school students made different slogans in a form of a cloud which show why reading the Bible is important. Some also made Prayer wall wherein the whole student body can write their prayer requests and have the Faculty and Staff pray for the prayers during their personal devotions.
Pre-school to elementary students whould not get behind all the decoration activties as they also displayed their artwork during their chapel services. The Pre-school students traced their feet and wrote “Follow Jesus”, while Grades 1-3 wrote their verses colorfully on the cross-shaped paper. These were then later posted on on the wall along the hallway for everyone’s delight.
A week before the culmination day, the school also opened different activities that engaged the students to study the Word and show off their skills. Below is a list of the activities:
- Bible Quiz Bee
- Picture It!
- Mannequin Challenge
- Oral Testimonies
- Songwriting competition
- On-the-spot art contest
- On-the-spot essay writing contest
All the above mentioned activities aimed at promoting the significance of growing in the Word of God and also hone the skills and talents of the students. Winners were awarded during the culmination activity of the National Bible Month.
Part of the activities lined up for the Bible month also is the posting of trivia on Facebook which encourages awareness about different facts about the Bible.
The school participated in two Bible Competitions. First of these, is the Bible Festival hosted by Association of Christian Schools International. The school participated in different categories that showcase the knowledge and skills of the students relating to the Bible i.e. Quiz Bee, Oral testimonies, and Art contest.
The worship team of TFCA also lead the worship time during the competion. The elementary team of the school landed 4th place after battling with another school in a clincher round. The said event was held in Philipine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay last January 27-28, 2017.
