Before the seminar started, and while waiting for the attendees to arrive, the students took time to interview the mothers. They asked basic questions like how far long are the mothers in their pregnancy, how many kids they already have. Soon as the room was filled, the seminar started.

The selected Grade 10 students talked about the importance of proper nurturing, hygiene, diet and exercise for the mothers during pregnancy. They also gave tips on what food to give to the babies once they are born.

They emphasized on the importance of breastfeeding after childbirth. For the older kids, the students taught the mothers to schedule a menu for the week so the kids won’t grow tired of the food that they eat, they even suggested certain recipes so that the children may enjoy the healthy food that is given them. The students focused on the importance of incorporating fruits and vegetables in the daily food intake of the children.

After the seminar proper, as a summary, the Grade 10 students gave a quiz with the mother-participants to gauge if they learned something from the seminar. The students also provided tuna sandwiches and juices participating mothers which were prepared by the Grade 8 students. They also handed out prizes and goody bags to the participants after the seminar.
